“I was looking for a place where I could share my experience in business and as a coach that was founded in a way that addresses our whole person—spirit and soul.”

Mark Adelmann brings decades of experience in accounting, finance, investment management, and executive leadership. His career began with more than 13 years at what is now Deloitte, spending eight years in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and five years in Johannesburg, South Africa.

His experience spans financial institutions, real estate, oil and gas, gold mining, steel production, transportation, wholesale, and light manufacturing.

After returning to the United States and relocating to Colorado's Front Range, Mark joined an asset management firm. His work included quantitative investment strategies, fundamental research, stock selection, and portfolio management.

During his tenure, the group grew assets under management from approximately $300 million to as much as $2 billion.

Mark also served for roughly 10 years as the privately held firm's acting CFO, including four years on its management committee. He helped navigate generational transition within the partnership, team development, and preparation for an eventual sale to another asset manager backed by private equity.

Today, as an Acumen Executive Coach, Mark brings that experience together with a passion for helping leaders navigate change, lead with purpose, and grow as whole people.

More About Mark

Why Acumen?

I was looking for a place where I could share my experience in business and coaching while being part of something that recognizes the importance of developing the whole person—spirit and soul.

Acumen provides an opportunity to bring together my professional experience, my faith, and my passion for helping leaders grow. I believe leadership is about much more than business success. It's about growing personally and spiritually while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

What challenges are CEOs facing today?

The pace of change continues to accelerate, creating pressure on leaders to adapt, anticipate the future, and navigate uncertainty. As Christians, we need to press deeper into our faith and relationship with God, embracing the adventure before us rather than shrinking back or becoming overwhelmed.

The world is increasingly recognizing the importance of business with a purpose, and that starts with us as leaders.

God has created us for something greater than simply making money. We're called to make an impact on our employees, customers, and communities while also investing in our families and their futures.

Leadership is an adventure God has created us for, and we have an opportunity to step into it with faith, courage, and purpose.

Beyond the Office

On a Personal Note...

Family Is at the Heart of My Life

My wife and I have been happily married for 49 years. We've been blessed with five amazing children spread across the country and nine beautiful grandchildren.

Family is one of our greatest joys, and we're passionate about building healthy families that, in turn, build healthy families.

Favorite Ways to Recharge

We enjoy spending time in the mountains and getting away to Florida during the coldest parts of winter.

Being outdoors and spending time with family are some of the things we enjoy most.

What Matters Most to Me

As a family, we're passionate about bringing God's Kingdom to earth in every area of society—not just within church walls, but through business, the arts, education, and efforts to create lasting transformation.

We're committed to initiatives that combat slavery and human trafficking, support alternatives to abortion, and make a positive impact through both for-profit and nonprofit work.

Above all, we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
