Acumen's Front Range Region in Colorado is elevating its leadership impact with the addition of Pete Gazlay as the newest Growth Catalyst.

The Front Range is led by Regional President and Growth Catalyst, Steve Van Diest. Expanding efforts north, Pete will come alongside CEOs and Business Owners to help drive growth in their businesses, performance, profit, and people. With Pete's experience sitting in the seat of owning his own business, he will help carve pathways to help serve other leaders to create catalytic communities.

Pete's Background

Pete Gazlay grew up in an entrepreneur's family and caught the bug early with his own lawn mowing and landscape installation company. The road to business ownership was never a straight path. The "five-year plan" got interrupted by children, and Pete had to support his family, launching his career as a police officer. He rose rapidly in the leadership ranks but saw his future with bureaucrats and politicians feeling he was a square peg in a round hole. He did the unthinkable and retired mid-career to launch his speaking career.

He wasn't quite as successful as he hoped, and after three years, he found a "real job" again. Pete worked for an incredible entrepreneur in the Facilities Maintenance industry and was exposed to site operations, Fortune 500 companies, and navigating world headquarters in the US, Canada, and Costa Rica.

In 2009 he left that company, launching Total Facility Care with his wife in 2010. They started with zero clients and zero employees. As a truly bootstrapped company, Pete did business development during the days and cleaned buildings at night to get things off the ground. In 2022, Pete and his wife exited the company with sales in excess of $5M and 145 team members.

Pete attributes his ability to exit to two primary decisions. First, he joined an Owners Accountability Group in 2015, which grew his network and gave him a place to process business and marketplace issues. Next, in 2018, Pete led the self-implementation of the EOS®  System in Total Facility Care, and over the next few years, the business became less dependent on Pete and more reliant on a leadership team. These two decisions increased the value of TFC and enabled Pete and Linda to make their exit.

Why Pete Joined Acumen

After exiting his business, Pete had several opportunities to pursue what was next. This included becoming an EOS Implementer and leading other peer accountability groups. Pete is a huge fan of EOS but decided Acumen's exclusive peer accountability groups were the perfect match for him and his skill set. He looks forward to bringing these industry-best groups to Northern Colorado.

Pete says, "I am passionate about helping CEOs and business owners live their best lives. I know Peer Accountability Groups and Coaching made a massive difference for me, and I am excited to bring that to Northern Colorado through Acumen."

We are excited to expand Acumen's catalytic ripple of impact in Northern Colorado. Help us welcome Pete Gazlay to Acumen!
